Texas has begun to issue licenses to the applicants for licensure under the grandfather language of the law that expired September 1, 2002. During the first year, there will of course be a backlog of initial applicants, but the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners has offered assurances that all applications will be processed as quickly as possible.
